Hello
I'm new here so hope I am posting this in the correct part of the forum. My partner and I have recently acquired what I think is an African Cichlid, however which type I have had a lot of trouble trying to identify.
My partners work gave him to us as they wanted to keep more fish in their tank, however this fish was aggressive toward anything else that had been put in the tank with him (we are told he is male, but can't confirm this) and would kill them.
Is anyone able to help? I'm curious to find out what he/she may be and whether there are other species of fish we can put in the tank safely.
